Welcome to Main Street Bikes

I love my bike; Jims 11.5 pound scott addict.

Jim Lee has built up an amazing ride (thanks in part to the light weight Xpedo Pedals he bought at Main Street bikes) suitable, but not legal to race, for pros in Europe. Tom: Here's the photos of my Scott Addict with the Xpeedo Thrust pedals. The pedals are great; they're VERY smooth and the cleat system (Look Keo compatible) works extremely well. The adjustment to clip out has an effective range from "effortless out" to "clamped in a vise". I've had Shimano Dura-ace and Campy Record (Ti) on my other bikes and the Xpeedos are as good or better... definitely better, because they're lighter and half the price. I bought the Xpeedos to complete my "weight weenie" bike build project and they contributed to a successful result of 11.5 lbs -- WITH THE PEDALS!! Tom, thanks again for your great service, you are a pleasure to deal with. Jim Lee | End of text. 2010-02-08 10:03:40

The Shelby county TT series

I know you are all thinking about time trialling in this glorious weather. Well, get out your date books, the Shelby County TT series is set in stone. March 21st, April 11th, May 16th and June 20th (State championship). We will add dates for July and August as the other race calendars shake out a bit better. Online registration will be up in the next two weeks. There will be prizes for the top three in all categories and for the most improved rider. We did our best to flatten the course, but apparently aloe won't help the swelling of mother earth. This is Kentucky, we have hills so suck it up. It's a great course. | End of text. 2010-01-30 09:45:46

I love my bike: Nino's BH G5

You may see a number of BH's in the "I love my bike" section of our website. Well, they are pretty easy to love as far as bikes go. Here is another G5build to covet. BH G5 Review – By Nino Bike build: · Campy Super Record Groupset · 3T Ergosum Team Handlebars and Stem · Easton EC90 SL Carbon Clincher wheels · Keo 2 max pedals · Fizik Arionne saddle Well, after spotting this bike at the 2009 Tour de France I decided that I had to have one! I eventually received my frame from bikes on main which gave me EXCELLENT service, Thx Tom. On my first ride, I immediately noticed the difference in the BB30 Bottom Bracket. Everything felt very solid and when I pedaled the bike wanted to accelerate forward. I find it very light on the handling and it does exactly what I need it to do, especially on the descents. The Edge fork is solid yet dampens the road, no vibrations! I love the semi integrated seat post and can’t fault it. When I added my new Easton Carbon wheels it felt like the bike was flying! The BH G5 is one of the best bikes I have ridden and I can’t fault it after 2months of riding. | End of text. 2010-01-25 10:41:10

I love my Bike: Tom Conquest's Allegro and Raleigh Clubman

Well, where do I start! I actually have two Main Street bikes and I love 'em both! The first bike I purchased from Tom was a Jamis Allegro that I geeked up with a rack and bag. I work in Lawrenceburg and I use this bike for local errands and an occasional lunch ride. I had had a couple of hybrid bikes before but I never really liked them very much but the Jamis has a road bike feel that makes it fun to ride(geeked out or not)! The second bike that I got from Tom is a Raleigh Clubman and that bike is awesome! I am not an itty bitty cyclist so a steel frame was what I was looking for so when Tom showed me the Clubman I was sold. It has great components and while I won't beat many up those Franklin Co. hills I still do ok(heck I doubt I'd beat many with Toms's BH). Lastly I'd like to give a shout out to Tom and his shop, he does a great job with all my service needs and if he doesn't have what I need he always comes up with it! | End of text. 2010-01-22 08:20:49

Early review: 2010 Fuji Cross RC

After a full-ish season of cyclocross, I feel like I have learned a lot about cross and gear choices. As the sport grows, it is nice to see so many manufacturers making competition level, budget minded, and purpose built cross rigs. Two of my 010 favs have just arrived. One is the Raleigh High Life, which I will review later. The High Life is a single speed cross frameset that is almost as wonderful to look at as it is to ride.
My other cross favorite for the new year is the Fuji Cross RC, Fuji's new top level cross bike, rounding out their already impressive line of the Cross Comp and Cross Pro.

A review too late...The Fuji SST

For those of you who might happen upon this review via google, I should state up front that this review is for the 2009 Fuji SST, and not the brand new hotness - 2010 SST with updated frame. The 010 model looks smoking hot and I can't wait to get my hands on one, but the 09 SST was one of my pre-season favorite race bikes for 2009. So, why the review so near the new year? | Click here to read more 2009-12-02 11:21:17
